One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know each of my brides on a personal level. My favorite brides are the ones who inspire me. Brittney was one of those brides. I loved working with her because she truly has such a warm soul and can light up any room she enters.
-Hi there! I'm Olivia and I help brides feel like their best self in the most comfortable way. My hair and makeup style is natural, authentic, and inspired by soft glam. I'm located in Baltimore and Connecticut, and serve the East Coast from Virginia to Massachusetts.
What I saw brought the most joy to her friends and family was the authenticity and kindness that she shared. From wearing her cute and cozy panda slippers to treating each of her bridesmaids with a handwritten appreciation note, she was intentional with every aspect of her wedding day.
Getting Ready
We started off the morning arriving at 8am at Lyle Hotel DC in Dupont Circle, the cutest, most charming neighborhood. Between hair and makeup, my additional artist, Jordan, and I worked on fourteen services that morning!

Brittney wanted a natural look for her makeup. She shared about her past experiences with professional makeup and how she didn't feel like her most elevated, authentic self. It was really important for her to look and feel radiant, bronzed, sun-lit. Some changes we made from her preview to wedding day were less bronzer and more of a champagne rather than bronzed eyeshadow shimmer.
Brittney's amazingly talented cousin from LA is a celebrity hairstylist- and created a look that had the most voluminous yet soft waves that held curl all day. Inspired from a previous bride that I worked on, Brittney knew that she wanted pearls to adorn the side of her hair. I had extra from my former bride, so I offered to bring some for her wedding day! How stunning was the full look - see below!

The First Look

If you are on the fence about whether or not to do a first look, I will always say to do it!! Your wedding day is to celebrate you and your partner. Sometimes, the only time you'll ever get alone with your partner is during the first look. Most other times are happily spent with family, friends, and guests. Thus, it's super important to maximize and be intentional with each moment because the day can really fly by.
For your first look moment, remember to bring the q-tips that I give you in your touch up kit! They will come in handy when your tears (and his) start.
If I didn't already convince you why a first look is essential, take a look at Brittney and Colyer's first look moments below!

Sometimes, I can't believe I have a job where I get to help people feel like their best version on one of the most meaningful days of their life. It is truly such a joyous experience and makes my heart warm every weekend.
To top it off on Brittney being an amazing bride, she left the most thoughtful and kind review on Google for me:
Olivia was an absolute dream to work with!!! My primary concern was finding a bridal makeup artist who would help me look like my best self and she exceeded all expectations. I wear minimal makeup normally and have always been disheartened getting professional makeup done because makeup artists could never get my Asian features right and I didn’t look like myself. Olivia not only made me look like my best self highlighting my natural beauty but she made me feel like my very best self. She was so easy to work with between our trial preview and making adjustments morning-of. She did it all with grace and helped make such an important morning feel comfortable for all of us! Could not recommend her more.
If you want a joyous, calming, and authentic wedding morning like Brittney and Colyer, I'd love to work with you! Head to my inquiry page and complete my inquiry form to ask about my availability! I can't wait to work with you!
xoxo,
Olivia
