My favorite brides to work with are the ones who truly know themselves well and pick a style they know they will feel completely comfortable in. I was super excited to work with Lauren throughout her wedding weekend. Lauren knew that she wanted a natural makeup look. She shared that we knew we'd be a great fit because she loved how I emphasized my brides' features and didn't make any single person feel like "too much." She was one of those brides that booked a vendor and then just trusted them completely.

Lauren's Beauty Vision

It was important to Lauren that she look like a better version of herself on her wedding day. She wanted her skin to show through in a healthy, glowy way. For hair, Lauren knew she wanted her hair down in loose waves.

Like many of my brides, she also had concerns about things she wanted to draw attention away from. For example, some of Lauren's concerns included:

Has rosacea but doesn't want anything heavy-looking
Wanted to look tan and bronzed
Wanted natural makeup that would look great in photos and in person
Hoped her hair would hold curls all day

The Bridal Preview

Lauren's bridal preview will be one I remember because it was so different and she was so hospitable! I typically hold previews at my home studio in Canton, Baltimore. However, my bride had a busy past few months leading up to her big day and asked for me to come out to her instead. Lauren kindly hosted me at her family's BnB in Cape May, New Jersey for a few days while I helped her come up with a hair and makeup style that she would feel totally confident in.

At Lauren's bridal preview, we discussed her comfort level with hair and makeup. Lauren shared that she is a low-maintenance girl and rarely wears makeup. When she does dress up for special events, she will wear a tinted moisturizer, mascara, and a berry lipstick. She will typically curl her hair in loose curls.

Like I always love to do, we started off with gentle makeup. This included barely there eyeshadow, individual lashes, and a foundation coverage that hid redness but still enhanced her skin. I love working with a more gentle approach to makeup because it is much easier to build and add on than take away makeup that is already on the face.

Lauren booked me for her rehearsal and wedding day so we tried out two styles. Take a look at our bridal preview below!

The Rehearsal Dinner Welcome Party

Lauren's wedding weekend couldn't have been more perfect. We had the most beautiful weekend in St. Michaels, Maryland overlooking the bay.

On Friday, Lauren chose a simple, messy low bun with some face-framing peices that she could easily tuck behind her ears as the night went on. We went with natural makeup and darker lips to acheive a more fun look for her night time welcome party rehearsal dinner.

The Wedding Day

While at the preview, we tried a half-up half-down style, Lauren wanted her hair fully down on the wedding day because she felt like she would feel most like herself this way. Take a look at her wedding day look and some of her wedding photos below!
