Wedding Day Touch Ups Tips

One of my core values is collaboration, so I am always a big advocate of working together to achieve a "you, just better" wedding look. I want your hair and makeup to be amazing because my success is dependent on you looking and feeling flawless all day long!

For example, I LOVE it when brides leave me a 5-star raving review, email me their whole wedding gallery, and tell all their friends about me-- so making sure you look like your best self is also a top goal of mine.

-Hi there! I'm Olivia and I help brides feel like their best self in the most comfortable way. My hair and makeup style is natural, authentic, and inspired by soft glam. I'm located in Baltimore, and serve the East Coast from Virginia to Massachusetts.

At the end of the day, the work that I do is temporary. While my style of wedding hair and makeup is meant to last all night (see proof from my bride, Annie, below 😉), there are circumstances that may affect the integrity of the look. For example, it may be super humid that day or maybe you just know that you are going to cry many, many tears of joy. Hair is hair and makeup is makeup so it will always need a little of your collaboration and touching up!

Booking hourly on-site touch ups after morning beauty services are recommended if you know you will cry or if it will be super hot/humid/rainy that day. This is a great option for brides who don't want to worry about how they look and just want to live in the moment on their special day. However, for the times that you're unable to plan for, I'd love to still be there in spirit!

Here are some tips to help keep your hair and makeup as fresh as possible:

  1. I’ll leave a few q-tips in your touch up kit before I pack up for the day but if you know you’re a crier, bring a few more! Using tissues to wipe your tears has a high chance of wiping your makeup off so I always recommend something with as little surface area as possible!

  2. Eat your food in bite-sized bits. This means refraining from things like sandwiches, croissants, and noodles on your wedding day. Cutting up food into small pieces makes sure that you won’t need to use your napkin as much/wipe your face as much.

  3. Use a straw for drinks whenever you can- another tip to minimize wiping with a napkin.

  4. Have a friend carry your lip gloss and a powder compact for you to touch up when you go to the bathroom. Makeup is makeup and if it’s a hot day or you’re dancing all night, touch ups will be necessary!

These are just a few simple things that you can do to extend the wear of your makeup. If you want to look flawless all night like Annie, it's just as important to keep up a simple but thorough skincare routine.
